UOB

For new customers, please bring along your initial deposit and NRIC to any UOB branches for account opening.

Please note that the provision of the above documents does not automatically indicate that the Bank will accept the account opening for customer. The approval of the account opening is at the Bank’s sole discretion and the Bank reserves the right to reject the account opening without disclosing any reason.

For existing customers, please log in to your UOB Personal Internet Banking / UOB Mighty to apply for a new account.

  1. Via Personal Internet Banking. ($10 per cheque/cheque range)
  2. Call Contact Centre at 1800 222 2121 or +65 6222 2121 (if you are calling from overseas) ($30 per cheque/cheque range)
  3. Visit any UOB Singapore branch ($30 per cheque/ cheque range)

The total interest earned on the One Account comprises of a Base interest and Bonus interest. The Base interest is 0.05% p.a.. Bonus interest is applied to the Monthly Average Balance (MAB) of the account when the accountholder meets the following requirements:

  1. Spend S$500 on the UOB One Card/selected card within the calendar month

    Additional Bonus interest can be earned when customer completes one of the following on top of the card spend above:

  2. Credit your salary (min of $2,000) monthly to your UOB One Account with transaction reference “SALA” and/or

  3. Perform 3 GIRO debit transactions monthly from the One Account, payable to any participating billing organizations with the bank, within the calendar month.

Bonus interest is paid on first $50,000 balance in your One Account.

You may provide the remitting bank with the following information:

  • Pay to "UOB Singapore (SWIFT: UOVBSGSG)"
     
  • For Account of/ favoring: Beneficiary's name and account number (10 digits)
    (Names and account numbers must be as per Bank records)
     
  • Beneficiary bank name and address:
    United Overseas Bank Limited

    Singapore 048624

Kindly note that there will be a SGD $10 or equivalent for each inward remittance into UOB SGD or Global Currency accounts. The exchange rate used will be quoted by our bank's buying prevailing TT rate to convert into SGD before crediting into the designated UOB SGD account.

If information on Bank and Branch code is required, we have also attached the following link "ACH Bank and Branch Code" for your easy reference: http://www.uob.com.sg/assets/pdfs/global/achcode.pdf. Please use the first 3 digits of your UOB account number and refer to Appendix A to retrieve the corresponding bank and branch code. For example: For account 101-123-456-7, please use 101 to refer to Appendix A to retrieve the Bank Code 7375 and Branch code 001

The Bank would require customer to be physically present in Singapore for any account opening as verification and sighting of documents are needed.

The following documents will be required for opening a personal savings/current account:

Foreigners (not studying/working in Singapore)

  • Passport; and
  • Other form of more permanent identification e.g. identification cards or social security passes etc.
  • Proof of residential address (such as the latest telephone/utilities bill or latest bank statement; all documents to be in English).
  • A Letter of Reference from a Bank whereby the customer is currently having an existing banking relationship with the Bank itself; 
    OR
  • A Letter from an Introducer (the introducer must be our existing UOB Singapore account holder)

If you are the Primary account holder of the UOB One Account and your spouse is the Secondary account holder, she will be able to open another UOB One Account under her personal name or a joint account with her being the Primary account holder.

Bonus interest is applied to the Monthly Average Balance (MAB) of the account when the accountholder meets the following requirements:

  1. Spend S$500 on UOB One Card and/or UOB Yolo and/or Direct Visa Debit Card and/or Lady's Card) and
  2. (a) Credit your salary (min. of $2,000) monthly to your UOB One Account with transaction reference "SALA" and/or
    (b) Perform 3 GIRO debit transactions monthly from the One Account, payable to any participating billing organizations with the Bank.

In this instance, you may wish to check whether you have fulfill the 3 monthly GIRO debit transactions from One Account, payable to billing organizations within the calendar month or the billing cycle of your credit card.

If you have access to Personal Internet Banking, you can login to your account and terminate the GIRO arrangement online.

Please click on Pay and Transfer > Upcoming Payments > GIRO > Action > Edit > Termination Date > Input termination date > Save.

Alternatively, you may wish to obtain the termination form from your billing organization.
