DayOne secures S$530 million green loan from DBS, OCBC and UOB for its first Singapore data centre
Singapore, 18 August 2026 – DayOne, a Singapore-headquartered global digital infrastructure platform, has secured a four-year, S$530 million green loan from DBS, OCBC and UOB to support the development of its first data centre in Singapore. It is also expected to be Singapore's first data centre with on-site Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) power generation as part of a proof-of-concept initiative exploring hydrogen-based energy solutions.
The transaction comes amid growing demand for digital infrastructure globally, driven by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and 5G technologies.
The loan, structured in accordance with internationally recognised Green Loan Principles, will support the development of DayOne’s 20-megawatt (MW) data centre. Located in the Western part of Singapore, the facility broke ground in July 2025 and is expected to become operational by Q1 2027.
DBS, OCBC and UOB are acting as Joint Mandated Lead Arrangers, Book Runners and Green Loan Coordinators for the facility. DBS is also serving as the Facility and Security Agent.
Designed with sustainability at its core, the data centre will feature vertical building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and incorporate hybrid air and liquid cooling technologies to enhance energy efficiency.
In December 2025, the facility achieved BCA Green Mark Platinum (Provisional) certification, the highest Green Mark rating awarded by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority under the Green Mark for Data Centres Scheme.
Since its establishment in 2022, DayOne has rapidly expanded its footprint across Asia and Europe, with a presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong SAR, Finland and Spain.
Mr Han Kwee Juan, Group Head of Institutional Banking, DBS, said: “Demand for digital infrastructure is accelerating as AI and cloud computing continue to reshape economies across Asia. This is driving an increase in energy consumption and the need for more energy-efficient infrastructure. Drawing on our expertise in financing digital and renewable infrastructure projects, we are pleased to partner DayOne and the bank consortium to finance Singapore’s first data centre to pioneer a proof-of-concept for hydrogen-based energy. Singapore is well-positioned to lead financing of green and energy efficient digital infrastructure in Asia.”
Ms Elaine Lam, Head of Global Corporate Banking, OCBC, said: "Singapore's first data centre incorporating hydrogen power represents an important milestone in the evolution of sustainable digital infrastructure. As demand for digital services and connectivity continues to grow, innovative energy solutions will play an increasingly important role in supporting this growth sustainably. This financing reflects OCBC's commitment to supporting technology sectors, including digital infrastructure, which are increasingly critical to economic development, while advancing energy transition solutions that enable sustainable growth. We are pleased to partner DayOne on this milestone and look forward to supporting its continued growth as demand for high-quality, energy-efficient data centre capacity continues to rise across the region."
Mr Edmund Leong, Head of Group Corporate Banking and Sector Solutions Group, UOB, said: “As AI adoption accelerates, digital infrastructure is becoming a strategic asset that underpins economic competitiveness, innovation and resilience. This financing supports next-generation infrastructure that will strengthen Singapore's position as a leading AI and digital hub while advancing sustainability goals. At UOB, we are committed to support projects that build the foundations for the region's next phase of growth.”
