UOB FutureGen Scholarship

This initiative aims to support the academic development and potential of the young people of tomorrow, as part of UOB's purpose to build the future of ASEAN through its focus on Education.

The scholarship leads to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level certificate or similar qualification.

Who is eligible

Applicants must:

  • Be an eligible citizen of ASEAN or PRC
  • Have a birthdate between 2 January 2009 and 1 January 2012 (inclusive)
  • Demonstrate consistently strong academic results
  • Show active involvement in co-curricular activities
  • Possess a high level of English language proficiency

  • Return transport allowance to home country
  • Hostel accommodation
  • Economy Class air-ticket (or a transport allowance) to commence studies in Singapore
  • Subsidised medical benefits and Accident Insurance coverage
  • Priority to be considered for an internship with UOB

We are pleased to introduce the UOB FutureGen Scholarship, a new initiative that marks the Bank’s 90th anniversary, in line with the Bank’s focus to do right by its communities. This programme will positively impact the academic foundation and future of students from the region. We will be offering the first batch of scholarships to students from Indonesia, Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) the opportunity to study in Singapore from Secondary 3 to Junior College Year 2.

We welcome applications from students who:

  • Are citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia or PRC
  • Were born between 2 Jan 2009 and 1 Jan 2012 (inclusive)
  • Demonstrate academic excellence
  • Show active involvement in co-curricular activities
  • Have a genuine passion for community service

We value well-rounded individuals who not only excel in their studies but also actively contribute to their school and community.

The scholarship is renewable annually. Renewal is based on your academic performance, allowing us to continue supporting your growth and achievements.

This scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other scholarship awards or financial aid. To maintain transparency, please inform the Scholarship Team if you are being considered for other awards or financial aid. We encourage you to choose the opportunity that best suits your needs.

The number of scholarships awarded depends on the quality of applications we receive.

Our selection process includes a test for shortlisted applicants. Those who perform well in the test will be invited for an online interview, giving you the opportunity to showcase your potential.

While we understand the disappointment of an unsuccessful application, the Scholarship Team's decision is final.

Yes, there may be engagement opportunities between scholars and UOB.

While there is no bond or mandatory service commitment, we encourage scholars to play an active role in contributing to their communities. UOB may, where applicable, offer opportunities for the scholars to participate in community giveback programmes or initiatives.
