Artist: Galih Adika Paripurna
Title: White Square: Two of a Kind
Medium: Mixed media on bended aluminum sheet
Size (cm): 160 x 174 (Diptych)
The artist was inspired by an audience being “embodied” in an artwork. The experience of being “embodied” in an artwork tends to be artificial, while everything has been converted into simulation-based media. This artwork is made of various 2D and 3D images, that are close to human sensory.
White Square: Two of a Kind has identical visual signs. The artist wanted to present a quality perception that cannot be captured either by lens or screen, and to give an urgency to the importance of direct appreciation experience at the art space.
Mr Paripurna graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. Since 2014, he has participated in many local and international exhibitions, including You’ve Got One Notification of The Space at The Parlor Bandung, Reason / Sensation / Art in 2015, Natura Hominis 2018, New Now III in 2019, etc.
