Children’s imagination and purity are often naive and spontaneous, and therefore honest. The artist used the way children draw and work it into the final artwork using rag embroidery technique. The use of rags, often discarded, can be made into a distinct expression of art, while at the same time reducing waste.
The process of mixing and matching rags is similar to the collage application technique in painting. Jalan-Jalan Bersama Bunda (Strolling with Mother) tells a story of a child’s joy about being out and about with her mother. When children are happy, the people around them are happy too.
