Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Start Digital Programme, the business needs to fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Be an SME registered and operating in Singapore with least 30% local shareholdings;
  2. Have group annual sales turnover of not more than SGD 100 million or have less than 200 employees;
  3. Take up 2 solutions;
  4. Must not have applied for any Start Digital Package through any other party; and
  5. Be applying for a Start Digital Package for the first time (i.e. have not applied for any Start Digital Package through any other party); and
  6. Complete and successfully submit the registration form

FAQs

Start Digital is a joint initiative by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) under the SMEs Go Digital programme. Start Digital was launched in January 2019 to help new SMEs start their business right with foundational and easy-to-deploy solutions. Start Digital is also intended for SMEs that are new to using digital technology.

UOB is an industry partner of the Start Digital initiative.

The Start Digital Pack is intended for SMEs who have just incorporated and/or are just embarking on their digitalisation journey. SMEs can take up any two solutions from the above 6 categories at a lower cost.

The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) supports businesses in the adoption of IT solutions/ equipment/ consultancy service that improve productivity. SMEs can select the relevant solutions from a pre-scoped list and apply to receive up to 80%1 funding support for eligible costs. This scheme offers a wider range of digital solutions and have different pricing packages from Start Digital.

1 As announced under the Resilience Budget, PSG’s maximum support level has been increased from 70% to 80% until 30th September 2021.

Depending on the solution, there is a free usage period of between 6 to 12 months. SMEs are required to sign a contract with solution vendors for a total period of between 18 to 24 months and a commitment of 12 months applies for the paid period. Early termination fee applies for contracts terminated prior to the expiry of the commitment period.

There are no restrictions on the type of business or industry of companies who can apply for these Start Digital solutions. However the company applying for the Start Digital solutions needs to meet the following criteria:

  • Be an SME registered and operating in Singapore with least 30% local shareholding;
  • Have group annual sales turnover of not more than SGD 100 million or have less than 200 employees;
  • Not be an existing user of the solutions which have been selected as part of the Start Digital Package;
  • Must not have applied for any Start Digital Package through any other party; and
  • Complete and successfully submit the registration form.

Note: SME is required to adopt at least 2 solutions to qualify for the Start Digital Pack.

SMEs are required to select two digital solutions to qualify for the Start Digital Programme. If the SME is interested in more than two digital solutions, the pricing structure under the Start Digital Programme will only apply to up to two digital solutions.
