RSS at UOB - Terms of Use

  1. General:
1.1. RSS (Really simple syndication) Service is a means by which UOBGROUP.com offers feeds of information in XML format (“RSS Content”) to visitors to UOBGROUP.com (the “UOB Site”) who use RSS feed readers or aggregators.
1.2. Your download and/or use of RSS Feed indicates your agreement to these Terms of Reference. These Terms of Use govern your use of the RSS Service. The use of the RSS Service also is subject to the terms and conditions of the Important Information To The Reader, which governs the use of UOB’s websites, information services and content.
1.3. These Terms of Use and the UOB Important Information To The Reader may be changed by UOB at UOB’s absolute discretion at any time without notice.

2. Use of RSS Feeds:
2.1. RSS is a free service offered by UOB for non-commercial use. Any other use, including without limitation, the incorporation of advertising into or the placement of advertising associated with or targeted towards the RSS Content, is strictly prohibited. You must use the RSS feeds as provided by UOB, and you shall not in any manner whatsoever, edit or modify the text, content or link of any or all of the RSS feeds supplied by UOB.
2.2. You may not directly or indirectly charge users specifically for accessing RSS Content nor attempt to re-sell RSS Content in any way. You shall not directly or indirectly suggest any endorsement or approval by UOB of your site or any non-UOB product of content or any view expressed within your site.
2.3. RSS Service is made available by UOB on an “as is” and “as available” basis and UOB gives no warranty of any kind in relation to the RSS feds, the Content or any content on the UOB Site. UOB disclaims all implied warranties, including but without limitation to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility and accuracy regarding the RSS Content, the RSS feeds and any UOB website and any content therein.
2.4. The RSS feeds and any RSS Content contained in the RSS feeds may only be displayed on website that do not fall into any one or more of the categories listed below. A site will be deemed to fall within of the following categories where there is a material and prominent section of the site that falls within such category.

Excluded sites:
1. Sites that incite hatred whether based on race, religion, gender, sexuality or otherwise, or promote encourage or facilitate anti-social behaviour;
2. Sites that promote, encourage or facilitate violence;
3. Sites that promote, encourage or facilitate terrorism or other activities that risk Singapore’s national security;
4. Sites that discriminate against any specific social or racial group or otherwise exploit vulnerable sections of society;
5. Sites that promote, facilitate or encourage illegal activity. or
6. Sites which are misleading, pornographic, defamatory, or that contain illegal, or otherwise actionable content under Singapore law.

3. Link to Content Pages:
3.1. The RSS Service may be used only with a platform from which a functional links is made available that, when accessed, takes the viewer directly to the display of the full article on the UOB Site.
3.2. You may not display RSS Content in a manner that does not permit successful linking to, redirection to or delivery of the applicable UOB Site web page.
3.3. You may not insert any intermediate page, splash page or other content between the RSS link and the applicable UOB Site web page.

4. Ownership/Attribution:
4.1. UOB retains all ownership and other rights in the RSS Content, and any and all UOB logos and trademarks used in connection wit the RSS Service.
4.2. You must provide attribution to the appropriate UOB website in connection with your use of the RSS feeds or RSS Content.

5. Right to Discontinue Feeds & Exclusion of Liability:
5.1. UOB reserves the right to discontinue its provision of any or all of the RSS feeds at any time and to require you to cease displaying, distributing or otherwise using any or all of the RSS feeds and/or RSS Content for any reason including, without limitation, your violation of any provision of these Terms of Use.
5.2. UOB assumes no liability for any of your activities in connection with the RSS feeds or for your use of the RSS feeds in connection with your website and/or other website.
5.3. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UOB EXCLUDES ALL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE HOWSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OF USE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY LIABILITY ARISING IN RELATION TO THE RSS FEEDS, THE RSS CONTENT OR ANY CONTENT ON UOB’S WEBSITES, ANY VIRUS OR OTHER CONTAMINATION OR UNAVAILABILITY OF RSS CONTENT.

6. Indemnity:
6.1. You agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend UOB in respect of all damages, costs an expenses, including all legal costs incurred on an indemnity basis, arising out of or as a result of any breach of these Terms of Use or otherwise in connection with your use of the RSS Service (including the RSS Content).

7. Governing Law:
7.1. These Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts.
