In 1982, we took our patronage of the arts to a higher level with the inaugural
UOB Painting Of The Year ("POY") Competition. With the competition, we hoped to promote greater interest in local arts, as well as encourage and recognise local artists and their work. Many past winners of the Competition such as Goh Beng Kwan, Thomas Yeo,
Chua Ek Kay and Anthony Poon, etc have gone on to gain greater local and international recognition. The competition itself is now considered a key event in the local arts scene.
Once again, UOB invites photographers and painters in Singapore to take part in its prestigious POY Competition. The Competition is divided into three sections:
1. Open Section
2. Youth Section (For entrants born between 1988 and 1993)
3. Junior Section (For entrants born between 1994 and 1999)
