UOB Group Responds To Plight Of Tsunami Victims
28 December 2004, Singapore
In response to the widespread devastation caused by the recent earthquake and tsunamis, the United Overseas Bank Group ("UOB Group") will be donating a total of S$300,000 to help the regional relief efforts.
UOB Singapore is giving the Singapore Red Cross Society S$100,000 for its "Tidal Waves Asia" fund. Another S$200,000 will be donated by our banking subsidiaries in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to the relief funds in their respective countries.
In addition, the Chairman & CEO of the Group, Mr Wee Cho Yaw, has donated S$100,000 to the Singapore Red Cross Society to kick off fund raising among staff in Singapore.
The UOB Group extend its sympathies to the victims and their families of this catastrophic disaster.
