UOB STAFF RAISE $100,000 FOR THE COURAGE FUND
Singapore, 2 May 2003 - In just two weeks, the UOB Group management and staff members in Singapore have raised an additional $100,000 through an internal fund-raising exercise for The Courage Fund. The Bank initiated this exercise as acknowledgement of the importance of community effort in the battle against SARS.
On 23 April, UOB announced its contribution of $200,000 in appreciation for the courageous healthcare workers and empathy for those Singaporeans affected by SARS. The Bank's donation, together with the staff contributions, amounted to $300,000, which will be sent to The Courage Fund today.
