UOB Card Rewards Autopay Users
Win-Win with the "All Famous. One Card."

Hong Kong, September 17, 2002 - Singapore's largest credit card issuer, United Overseas Bank (UOB), has offered new incentives to encourage Cardmembers to take advantage of the Autopay system to pay their monthly bills. The UOB "All Famous. One Card." is designed to make a difference to everyday life. Cardmembers not only enjoy the payment convenience, they also earn cash rebate in the process.

Left unchecked, unpaid bills can turn one's life upside down and induce unnecessary penalties - whether it's the cell-phone network cutting the line or the pay-TV company suspending the service. The 'no-fuss' UOB Autopay system is there to sweep aside those worries. "The UOB Card is committed to provide payment convenience and true value to Cardmembers." said Lawrence Tsong, UOB's Head of Credit Card Centre, Hong Kong. "We want to acknowledge the loyalty that UOB Cardmembers show us, and one way we can do that is by rewarding them more," he added. In this respect, UOB takes away the pain and Cardmembers gain. Those who register their bills through Autopay via UOB Card will receive a number of free gifts, such as Wellcome shopping vouchers and monthly cash rebate.

The UOB Card has already grabbed the headlines in the financial marketplace owing to the media attention given to the "All Famous. One Card." exclusive benefits promotion. The programme applies to all UOB Cardmembers, including UOB VISA, UOB VISA Gold, and UOB OCG Golf VISA Cardmembers. The exclusive array of advantages has been specifically selected to uphold UOB's brand personality and provide true value to Cardmembers. Since the first generic UOB Card - Hong Kong's first wholly translucent credit card - was launched in April 2002, UOB has captured the attention of a new generation of Cardmembers who prefer to make real choices which are tailor-made to suit their lifestyles.

UOB's current promotion lists high-profile partners such as retail group Lane Crawford, renowned Cantonese cuisine restaurant Zen, Orient Spa, the ultimate source of well-being, and O4 Osmosis, a hair-dressing magnet to many of Hong Kong's media celebrities. Other favourites include Starbucks, GOD, KFC and Wellcome as well as good-time deals such as discounted movie tickets, freebies from Maxim's Cakes, and reduced car parking fees from Wilson Parking.

Lifestyle-unlimited is the maxim that UOB Cardmembers live by and the introduction of the Autopay Reward system takes that byword one step further. Daily expenses such as the mobile phone bill, monthly insurance premium, internet service fee, and pay-TV bill can all be settled by UOB Card, leaving Cardmembers with the peace of mind. From November 1, 2002 until February 28, 2003, Cardmembers can redeem a HK$20 Wellcome shopping voucher for every Autopay bill payment of HK$100 or more settled by UOB Card over three consecutive months. In addition, every Autopay bill payment is eligible to a 1% monthly cash rebate. Simply register through UOB Customer Service Hotline at (852) 2209 3333 on or before October 31, 2002.
