Launched in January 2010, the UOB International Managers Programme reaches out globally to potential young leaders like you, seeking a banking career in UOB’s international network.
The 2011 UOB International Managers (IM) Programme will commence in February 2011.
At A Glance
In support of our mission to be a Premier Bank in the Asia-Pacific region, we seek high calibre managers who are internationally mobile. You will be assigned to a variety of exciting roles in our global network based on our business needs. You can expect to be rotated to three to four countries and be exposed to a wide spectrum of the bank’s business, such as Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Global Markets, Investment Management, Risk Management, Information Technology and Operations. Exceptional opportunities for professional and leadership development will be provided to groom you to be a truly universal banker.
Roles
International Managers will experience a range of exciting roles throughout our global network. Examples of the kind of roles that you may take on as an International Manager include:
- Manage pricing, promotion and distribution across various sales channels
- Lead a team to perform market research and develop appropriate strategies to enhance existing products and services
- Develop new products for our retail and corporate clients
- Lead a team to build, maintain and manage a portfolio of retail or corporate clients
- Oversee all aspects of sales, customer service and operations of a branch
- Prepare credit reviews to support our Relationship Managers in the region
- Review and implement systems to manage and control risks across our businesses
- Lead business process re-engineering projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Build new systems to support the roll out of new/enhanced products and services

Compile and maintain operations and financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning
This breadth of experiences will enable International Managers to have a solid grounding in business development as well as good understanding of the operational processes that support various aspects of the Bank’s business.
